Eugene Marais
Born in Pretoria, South Africa. I am married with 2 daughters and 6 grandchildren. I had a passion for wildlife from an earlier age and therefore considered a career in the field. I studied & obtained a diploma in Nature Conservation.
I have a broad range of animal experience – ranging over 37 years; including Giraffe, Rhino, Elephant, Antelope, Reptiles, Aquatic, Primates, Carnivores, and Avian species. My experience over the years has given me so much exposure relating to behavior management; capture, restraint transportation, enclosure design and project management. I joined Worldwide Zoo in 2013 working on various projects in a consultancy capacity.
My hobby is wildlife photography and videography – especially invertebrates and birds. I enjoy music & musical theatre, and sports, including football, rugby, cricket, and golf.
